16.5 - check

Well, the 2016 CrossFit Open is now over! Last Saturday I successfully completed a scaled Open Workout 16.5. Whew was it a tough one for me. This is the first time I've ever wanted to quit a workout! But the idea of having to put a zero for my score kept me motivated! Here's how it went down:

Workout 16.5

Rx’d
21-18-15-12-9-6-3 reps for time of:
Thrusters
Burpees
Men use 95 lb.
Women use 65 lb.

Scaled

I really love thrusters and burpees. So I was a bit bummed that my bronchitis and sinus infection was still hanging around. I was pretty tired / worn out going into the workout. I think when I got down to do the burpees on the round of 18 my arms were just so tired! And I had to pause a lot on a lot of it. After getting through the first 21 thrusters without a break (that was crazy), I tried doing them in groups, like 6+6+6 on the 18; 5+5+5 on the 15, etc. Needless to say it did not work out perfectly! I did get through the final three without stopping though. haha

I had not done this workout before - though our box did it a few months back. Sadly I missed that day! And it was also Open Workout 14.5! I think on a good day I would love it!

So, how did I stack up? According to the CrossFit Games app, like this:

Masters Women 50-54 in the World!

And this:
Masters Women 50-54 in the Mid Atlantic Region!

And this:
Overall at my box, MVCF!
I was actually tied for 20th at my box!

Needless to say, I'm already looking forward to next year's Open! Maybe then I'll even be able to Rx some of the workouts? Or just one! At least it is a goal! You gotta have a goal! Do you have a goal?

Anyway, this year when I watch the CrossFit Games I think things will make a little bit more sense!
