M-dots and cacti...

After Ironman Lake Placid in 2009 I got an M-dot tattoo. But it doesn’t really show. After I signed up for Ironman Arizona I started planning another M-dot tattoo. And because there was a cactus in the logo I thought I wanted to incorporate a cactus on my new M-dot. Well, since I successfully completed IMAZ on November 20 I figured I could do something about that! I was hoping I could get the new ink to cover some old ink on the outside above of my right ankle. But as it turns out that would not work out. So...I opted to get the new ink on the outside above of my left ankle. I went in there with my M-dot and a bunch of different cactuses. I showed everything to the tattoo artist, Johnny, and he actually came up with the same idea I had in my head: the cactus on top of the M-dot. So, I have a red M-dot and a green cactus! And it’s kind of like Christmas on my leg! But I love it!

I took a little break from swimming after getting the ink – and boy it was hard to get back in the water after. As always. But I went twice last week and managed to get up early yesterday morning to go and plan to do the same tomorrow morning. I also took a run break after the Fairfax Four Miler and Resolution 10K over New Year’s weekend. But I started running again last week. I have speed work is on the schedule tonight!

Next up: The 40th Anniversary Shamrock Marathon is in exactly 2 months. Yikes! (But I’m really excited!)

Happy and Healthy Training!
