I love military music! I remember my father singing the Army song when I was a little kid! And I am of course partial to the Air Force song...
Anyway, today was general registration for the 31st running of the Army Ten-Miler, to be held on October 11, 2015. I've run this race four times before: 2007-2009 and 2012.
This race had not really been on my radar for this year up until a few weeks ago. However, I started thinking it would be great to run it again and one that would be easy to train for if I could get in. My fall "A" triathlon race is on Sunday, September 13 - four weeks before. I'll have no problem training for 10 miles as part of this training. So I was optimistic and excited!
Then I tried to register.
Registration was supposed to open at 6:30 AM EDT and I was ready and at my computer. And really, not much was happening. I opted to get ready for work and try from the office. Still nothing. I checked social media for the race and found a link that included an IP address at the beginning, as opposed to a website. It was the IP address for the online event registration site.
And it worked!
Several of my friends are also running, so I'll have company among the 35,000 runners. But it means I won't be able to cheer on the other Rabbits at the Can Lake 50 this year. That is a bummer, but I'll be with them in spirit. I'm excited about my fifth ATM!
