Happy Spring!

Spring is here! A lot of fun stuff has happened since my last post:

4/1 marked my official return to Team Z
4/3 I participated in my first bike time trial - 21.6 miles of 3x7.2 mile loops in Prince William Forest Park (first time there) with Team Z, including a 2.5 mile warm-up (to get to the star) and of course we had to go that same 2.5 miles back to the cars; I think this was my first outside ride since September; I followed this with a 10 minute run
4/3 a post TT lunch with my Ironman USA riding buddies (Linda, Pam, and Carol)
4/4 my first hash run with beer; followed by a Bonzai sponsored BBQ – Happy Easter
4/5 post-work run with Es from Team Z – nice social run

I’ve been going to swim practice with Team Z twice a week now. If I could *only* add Sunday nights on my own, then I’d be happy. We’ll see. I do have new fun fins to work with and of course my paddles for pull work. (I must work on this!)

I’ve also been doing Carol’s burpee challenge and am up to 43 burpees. Tonight I need to do 44 of them. The idea is to get to 100 burpees in a day. Once I hit that though I don’t know what I’ll do.

Next week I hope to get back to the workout room twice a week and start lifting. Unless of course I start the Monday morning Z boot camp! Then I’ll only need to lift once a week. Or just go to the Wednesday evening Z boot camp, too. Today after work I hope to get outside on my bike again. Track work starts again on Wednesday, but I may skip it since I have the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in just 5 days. Track work will start next week for me. I can do track workouts Wednesday morning with Team Z, too. Then on Thursday I will do either an easy run or easy ride, as opposed to the bike speed work. Saturday I have packet pickup for Sunday’s race; then I’m meeting my cousins for lunch… Oh, and next Monday, 4/12, I start Yoga! I'm taking a 7 week class on Monday evenings.
